Narrative Of Our Soul

We are looking for strategies to set “guards” at the gate to our Mind; submit our Will to God’s purpose for us; and to have Jesus heal and remove damaged areas of our soul’s Emotions, which become anchored to our hearts. As Christians we need to know that out of what’s in our hearts, our mouth speaks (is it darkness, trauma, sorrows, offenses, hurts, rejections, damages, etc. that trigger us?). In the Book of Proverbs 4:23 the Word of God tells us to, “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” So, I ask: “Is our reality full of fear or can we call out Faith and walk in it?”

As we have learned from the first lesson, it is vital to controlling the narratives around us in order to walk in Faith and stay our of fear. We do this by examining our very own thoughts to be vigilant and sober minded from a Godly position; its wise strategy to discern the enemy’s lies by examining every thought to see that it not exalts itself above the knowledge of God. Take such thoughts captive. We do that by keeping the Word of God close to our hearts. We can pray and also ask Holy Spirit to show us how to pray over every given situation. And like David, we speak to ourselves making declarations, over ourselves and loved ones; and by remembering all our “benefits” in the Lord (Psalms 103).

Jesus said we must first bind the “strongman” in order to take the “House.” If we are the temple of the Lord, that is our house. When the enemy invades and tries to steal, kill or destroy our temple, we need to go after it like David did. He inquired of the Lord asking, “Do we pursue the thieves? And will we succeed?” Yes, and Yes! He recovered it all and then some (1 Sam. 30:8).

It Starts From Relationship

Pursuing a relationship with God and living from His presence seems to be a mystery for to many Christians. However, it doesn’t need to be that way! I have heard it said that many of us are trying to get to a place, we are already at with God.

For example, 1 Corinthians 2:16b we read that, “We have the Mind of Christ.” This statement is written in the affirmative, meaning it’s not a place we are asking for, nor is it even a matter of something we are growing into. We already have it. But do we understand what we have? Let’s start with a prayer and receive a fresh start!

PRAYER: “Lord God, I thank You for the gift of the Mind of Christ, which I received from Jesus’ finished works on the cross, in Him crucified, trading His life for mine. I renounce any darkness in my soul, such that the enemy deceived me, even my own sins and willfulness that made a place for this. And I repent of it, to be washed, cleansed and sanctified to Your purpose in me, from now on.

Now, having prayed in this manner, we can execute the strategy of making better decisions that having the Mind of Christ can function over our own “natural” mind and guard the gate to our souls!

Taking A Closer Look At 1st Corinthians 2

I Corinthians 2:6-13 (NKJV) Paul’s Message of Discerning & Judging Things of Our Soul (Narratives, Thoughts, High things, etc.); For This Is Where The Battle is for Our Soul

“We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age*, who are coming to nothing. 7 No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

*See also Ephesians 6:10-13. (God’s Wisdom, a mystery, IS available to us, who love God. Ask for it).

9 However, as it is written: (as a Christian, if you feel blind & deaf, it’s a lie of the devil. Break it off!)

“’What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived’ the things God has prepared for those who love him.” [In our covenant of benefits] 10 These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them?

In the same way no one knows the thoughts and intentions of God except the Spirit of God. 12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.

14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 for, ‘“Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.”

We have covenant rights, all its benefits and rights to make judgments by Holy Spirit, about all things going on around us, even every thought. We can get into alignment with the Word of God; Mind, Will & Emotions! And because we have the “Mind of Christ” guarding the “gate” to our mind, we can renew our thinking, having surrendered our “Will” to God’s Wisdom; we can now examine every emotional issue with truth. That is the glory of redemption and deliverance God freely gives us!

Our covenant rights are that we thrive in His Glory over us! We have the Mind of Christ to discern things by Holy Spirit and to make judgment of every thought, it’s intent, subject to the thoughts and purpose of the Mind of Christ. If we can know these things through Holy Spirit, why not ask Him? We can see that if we just ask Him for Wisdom, He will FREELY give it to us. Right? In fact that is the only way we can obtain the understanding of God in spiritual realities!

PRAY OUT LOUD:

Lord God, I thank You for Your free gifts as part of my benefits for loving you. And by seeking You through the discernment of Holy Spirit, I can make judgments about all things going on around me. I thereby have the Grace to call out words of Wisdom in every situation, against every wiles of the enemy, because Your Word says, ‘“I have the Mind of Christ.”’ And that You destined this for our glory!”’ Therefore, I believe and receive the free gift of my covenant rights; that I have the Mind of Christ; and through Holy Spirit, who searches the deep things of God, I CAN understand spiritual realities, His teachings and to use this to guard the gates of my mind. All Glory & Honor is Yours!”

Journal Activity

Write out some thoughts about the following question that may help you identify, not only the narratives going on around you or your loved ones, but to also show you what needs shoring up or what position to take in light of this information. We want to develop strategies that help keep us in control of our thought life and therefore the condition of our hearts to thrive. Ask Holy Spirit, who gives us absolute access to God and His thoughts, to bring revelation about everything going on around us.

Grab and friend and work on these together!

  1. What is the condition of my current reality? And where do I look to figure this out?
  2. How can I begin to control the narratives of my soul?
  3. What Godly position and action can I take to get back into a walk of Faith?
  4. What does having the mind of Christ mean to me?

Scripture References

2 Corinthians 3:17(NKJV) Let us live in the Freedom of the Spirit of the Lord

Now the Lord is The Spirit; and where The Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (freedom).”

1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV) Having the Mind of Christ gives us identity and calls Light into Darkness. “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;”

2 Corinthians 12:9 (AMP) God’s Grace is Sufficient; Christ’s Power Dwells & Enfolds My Weakness

“But He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [& is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me &] may dwell in me.”

2 Corinthians 10:4-6 (NKJV) Weapons of Warfare are Might in God; Pulling down strongholds

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (fleshly) but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”

1 Samuel 30:8 (NKJV) We have a covenant with God’s benefits & to pursue the thief and recover all

“So David inquired of the Lord, saying, ‘Shall I pursue this troop (of bandits)? Shall I overtake them?’

And He answered him, ‘Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail, recover all.’”

*Ephesians 6:13-18 (NKJV) Put on the whole armor of God; Stand, With Holy Spirit & His Sword

“13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

*We will take a closer look at the four level of demonic attack spoken of in Ephesians6:10-12. About which we are told to put on the whole armor of God! 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [a]wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [b]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Our Benefits & Covenant Blessings

Psalm 103:2-13 (NKJV) A Psalm of David. List of Benefits/Covenant & Praise for the Lord’s Mercies.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, 5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. 6 The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. 7 He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to children of Israel. 8 The Lord is merciful & gracious, slow to anger, &abounding in mercy. 9 He will not always strive with us, nor will He keep His anger forever. 10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities. 11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear (love) Him; 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. 13 As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear (love) Him.

Question, please reply in the comments below:

Would you use a “My Focus Moment” journal with various PIC sections (ei. My Focus Moment, Decrees, Soul Audit, etc.), if we developed one?

Also, do you keep/or would use a PIC daily planner/calendar with Scripture Affirmations, Declarations, Decrees, etc. for each week/month/year and other feature PIC pages?

Which appeals most to you: a simple text and lined pages layout or a ‘color book’ style, garden themed design or a mix there of?

Thank you for your input! We would like to offer a journal/calendar for our PIC group members to record their prayer journey, while learning and growing in Freedom from the Throne of God.
